The Skål International movement, present all over the world, is made up of tourism professionals in all their fields.

Its objectives are to promote friendship, mutual understanding, peace and solidarity among its members, in order to encourage the development of common interests among those involved in the tourism industry.

The Skål International Latin America Northern Area Committee (CAN) was approved on 3 May 1984 at the meeting held in Tucumán-Argentina. It was originally formed with the member countries Colombia, Venezuela, then Ecuador, Costa Rica, Guatemala and finally Panama.

In response to the invitation from the President of the Northern Latin America Area Committee, Chary Araujo, the Presidents and members of the current member countries, Venezuela, Panama and Ecuador, participated in the Extraordinary General Assembly 2022, held at the Aloft Hotel in Panama City on Thursday 21 July, where the elections of the new members of the CAN 2022 Board of Directors were held and the following Board of Directors was unanimously elected:

• President: Fabrizio García Martínez (Skål International Guayaquil).

• Vicepresident: Nicola Furnari (Skål International Caracas).

• Secretary: Shirley Rivera (Skål International Guayaquil).

• Treasurer: Erick Goldoni (Skål International Panamá).

• Membership Director: Ana Villaverde (Skål International Panamá).

• PR Director: Gino Luzi (Skål International Guayaquil). 

• Councillor: Carlos Cusati (Skål International Caracas). 

On the evening of the same day, the Northern Area Committee invited all Skålleagues to a pleasant dinner at the Sheraton Grand Hotel to hold the installation of the new Board of Directors, a very formal, emotional and fun ceremony, where Skålleagues celebrated the reunion of Skålleagues after years of the pandemic by toasting and dancing to good music. 

The following day, 22 July, the Northern Area Committee invited all participating Skålleagues and their companions to a cocktail party to enjoy the Skålleagues’ brotherhood and watch the sunset from the rooftop bar Casa Casco, Panama City's old town, with great friendship, fine cocktails and delicious Panamanian snacks, which were very enjoyable and will remain in the collective memory of all of us who had the pleasant opportunity to experience it.
